The release of my second Latin Jazz album, entitled “Passing By,” on all streaming platforms will be announced soon. On this album, I’m very happy to feature one of the best Cuban drummers as a special guest, Horacio “El Negro” Hernández. More information about “Passing By” is coming soon.
In the meantime, I invite you to check out some of the videos where I am featured. “Entre Cuarta y Quinta” is one of my own compositions, recorded at 7Sound studio en Toronto. It features a quartet format. I’m on keyboard, Yaser Rodríguez on bass, Jorge Luis “Papiosco” on congas, and Amhed Mitchel on drums.
On the second video, “Habana del Este,” I’m the pianist with Juan de Marcos González and The Afro-Cuban All Stars, in a concert at the SFO Jazz Center, in San Francisco, California. “Habana del Este” is a beautiful danzón that Juan de Marcos wrote during the recording sessions of the first Buena Vista Social Club album, and it’s dedicated to his wife, Gliceria Abreu, and to the neighborhood in which they lived for many years in Havana.
